Does failing to achieve really help a student become more successful? Ultimately (yes, I said it again), that is the point of this article from NPR. Some psychologists and teachers are saying that students need to become "grittier," usually achieved by failure, while others (specifically education researcher Alfie Kohn) say this focus on grittiness is simply taking the focus off the real problems in schools and the overall education system.
