College - it is a topic which keeps popping up at this time of year. The seniors are almost there, the juniors are starting to think about their college choices seriously, and the sophomores are participating in shadow day to begin thinking about what colleges will lead them to the careers they want. In this article from NPR, the focus is the cost of college: Why does it cost so much, and how are people supposed to pay for it?
College is a very stressful and expensive thing, its coming up so fast and some kids don't know what to do. My idea for my future is to join the armed forces. I want to go into the National Guard, they pay 100% tuition for all public schools. They also pay you weekly, for doing drill. One weekend out of each month, money just building up in your bank account.

Shawn,
ReplyDeleteThat sounds like a great plan to me. I read in the latest edition of the Knight Writer that Alec Rampe, who graduated last year, is doing that right now to pay for his education.
